A FIRST CANDIDATE IS A SUCCESS STORY
Hot Prospects, has helped a Lincolnshire business to recruit its first ever graduate
Launched in June 2006, Hot Prospects acts as a specialist matchmaking service, linking the region’s graduates with businesses of all sizes and across all sectors.
Creative Contacts, with offices in Lincoln and Sleaford, is a contact management service, specialising in telemarketing and delivering telephoneled solutions to a wide range of businesses.
Managing Director, Paul Clayton said, “I was keen to recruit a graduate as I want someone who can take the business forward. There are real career opportunities here in the sales and telemarketing sectors and equally we
have a lot to offer graduates in return.
“We want people with good all round skills and we also need them to have the ability to really understand business, which is why we specifically looked at graduates with business degrees. Hot Prospects allowed us to tap directly into the graduate market and find these people. I’ve been really impressed with the service and its effectiveness.”
Michael Cartwright graduated from the University of Lincoln in May with a Business Studies degree. He said, “I was drawn to the role of Business Development Executive here because the job description sounded very appealing, and I wanted a role where I could progress and grow with the company.
“I signed up with other recruitment services during and after leaving university, but they didn’t quite fulfil the expectations that I had and I didn’t get many strong leads from them. Hot Prospects was different, it was easy to use, and came up with exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend it to others.”
The Hot Prospects service will be 100% grant funded for all offering placements or based in priority sectors until 2011.
This grant funding has been made possible by support from East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The need for such a service is clear. The region’s universities produce some 50,000 graduates each year but the East Midlands has the lowest graduate retention rate of any region in the U.K. Many of the 230,000 SME businesses in the region want to employ new, fresh, graduate talent and graduates want to stay in the vibrant and welcoming cities and towns in which they studied but no organisation to date has managed to effectively link this demand and supply chain.
