BOOTS STEP FORWARD FOR HOTPROSPECTS
Boots is the latest corporate organisation to sign up to access a unique and growing pool of East Midlands graduate talent.
HotProspects, the specialist graduate recruitment service set up to serve the region, is finding that word of its success is travelling fast and wide.
Just a year old, the service started as an emda backed initiative aiming to keep graduates in the region and promote the benefits of graduate employment predominantly to small and growing businesses in the area.
Now, Boots is one of 60 larger corporate organisations also wanting to access the HotProspects offer and the 4,000 graduates registered with the service.
Andy Perrey is Resourcing Manager Commercial at Boots: “We were interested in the HotProspects service because of its focus on graduate recruitment and the positive relationships it has built with Universities in Nottingham and the wider region. A deciding factor for us was that HotProspects will take registrations from applicants up to three years after they have left university, which means that we can also consider graduates with one or two years experience – a great advantage for some of the positions we are looking to fill.”
“Boots is always keen to build better and wider community links and support projects that are of benefit to Nottingham and the East Midlands. It is in all our best interests that graduates, and the skill and potential that they hold, stay to develop their careers in the region.”
Boots currently employs around 200 in graduate level positions at its head office site in Nottingham and so has an ongoing requirement for good graduate candidates. Vacancies it has now registered with HotProspects range from Junior Buyer to Formulation Technologist. Iain McCracken is Project Director at HotProspects: “We are finding that more and more corporate organisations want to use the service, particularly now its success is proven. We have just made our first placement for Caterpillar in Leicestershire, and LDV Group Limited (previously Leyland DAF Vans) in Birmingham has employed HotProspects to find this year’s intake of graduate trainees. HotProspects has filled over 1230 vacancies, and at a fixed fee of £1000 per placement offers significant value.”
“Now we have launched a portfolio of additional products and services that can be tailored for any size of business.”
Smaller businesses are particularly attracted by the 100% grant funding available to them for an initial period - courtesy of emda and ERDF. In layman’s terms, this means that SMEs are able to bypass the typical fees levelled by mainstream recruitment practices.
