ROLLS ROYCE SIGNS UP FOR HOTPROSPECTS
The HotProspects story is gathering yet more speed.
Rolls-Royce, the international engineering giant, has signed up to the service as the first of the major regional corporate organisations to do so.
Tracy Ross is Recruitment Marketing Manager at Rolls-Royce: “The fact that HotProspects is an East Midlands Development Agency initiative is certainly important to us as any support Rolls-Royce can offer to assist the region is something that the company commits to.
“Rolls-Royce already attracts a number of graduates from universities in the East Midlands but HotProspects can offer us a tailored package for the business. We take on some 150 to 200 graduates per year. 60% to 70% of that intake will have engineering qualifications but the remainder of our vacancies fall into a diverse range of requirements. Rolls-Royce is an iconic international engineering organisation but we are not as readily associated with a need for graduates who can fulfill, for example, marketing, purchase and finance vacancies. HotProspects can help us in this area.
Iain McCracken, cofounder and Director of HotProspects, sees this as a significant step forward for the business: “Certainly we are offering a specific service for SMEs but we must also be careful to not let that define us. The service has always been available to larger organisations at a fixed cost and now we have launched a portfolio of additional products and services that can be tailored for any size of business.
“This is just the first of many major partnerships that we hope to forge on behalf of HotProspects. The 10395 graduates now registered with the service are attracting more and more employers to the service as they represent a unique pool of talent in the region.
“We are currently planning a redesign of the website a year earlier than scheduled because, after almost twelve months, we can better predict the volume of traffic that the site will have to deal with.”
The specialist graduate recruitment service has been in operation less than a year but in that time has made a considerable impact in the region. Initiated and supported by EMDA, HotProspects has now placed over 1230 graduates.
Its focus has been to keep a greater percentage of the 50,000 plus students that graduate every year from East Midlands universities living and following a career in the region, rather than take their skills and talent elsewhere. At the same time it has been building awareness amongst small to medium sized enterprises that the recruitment, training and investment in graduate employees is a valuable investment for the future health, growth and productivity for their business.
Smaller businesses are particularly attracted by the 100% grant funded status available to them for an initial period courtesy of emda. In layman’s terms, this means that the service is free to SMEs, allowing them to bypass the typical fees leveled by mainstream recruitment practices.
