HOTPROSPECTS IN BOLSOVER
Grant funding available for interim placement resource – exclusive to Bolsover District SMEs.
In response to the changing needs of small businesses in Bolsover district, the local council has developed a work placement programme exclusively for the area’s businesses. With funding and support from Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership, HotProspects, the East Midlands Graduate Recruitment Service, can offer this service completely grant-funded for an initial period.
HotProspects is working in collaboration with Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership to provide a grant funded placement programme to support the changing requirements of the small businesses in the area. Businesses in the Bolsover District continue to operate in an increasingly difficult economic climate, therefore the placement programme would allow them to allocate high level resource to project based work without having to;
- Commit to taking on resource on a permanent basis
- Pay recruitment fees
- Outsource work to expensive consultancies
Projects that a graduate can add real value on are often unrelated to normal business operations, for example, getting a placement student to update your website and improve your Google ranking. Outsourcing such work is expensive, a placement student can cost as little as £200 per week and an activity such as this can significantly drive sales.
Small businesses across the district are operating in a different economic environment now to what they were last year. Research conducted earlier in 2009 indicates that employers would welcome a programme minimising the risk attached to resourcing. It also gives hiring managers an opportunity to get to know their candidate before offering an apprenticeship or full time position further down the line – this is something our clients in Bolsover district are asking for.
The programme is launched from June 2009, and is remarkably simple to use. A dedicated HotProspects account manager will work with the employer to define the job specification, and discuss the placement variables such as salary, urgency and skills required. Once that has been agreed, an overview of different placement methodologies will be provided, and an action plan rolled out.
